: 2949m
Difficulty:
An easy scramble via west slopes
Round Trip Time: 6-10 hours
Height Gain: 1570m
Map:  82 O/4 Banff

Mount Rundle is possibly the most popular scramble around Banff, if not in all of the park. From the west its unique shape demonstrates a classic dip-slope or writing-desk geological formation. When snow free you'll encounter few difficulties ascending the gentle, west slopes, which offer a fine view of beautiful Bow Valley and distant summits. Although straightforward, over the years this alluring mountain has contributed more than its share of call-outs for Parks rescue service. The windswept route is often clear of snow and in shape by May.
